About the Boat, the “Christina Marie”

The "Christina Marie", a 2005 twenty foot long Alumaweld Intruder (overall length, 24') with a soft covered hard framed top (98” beam (width) and inside floor height of 26” (sides)) that provides shelter from the weather and firm hand holds for loading and off loading.  The extended platform off the transom is where the Yamaha 150 hp four stroke outboard motor is mounted beside the Yamaha 8 hp high thrust four stroke trolling motor.  Although I only charter the boat for up to 4 people for fishing, this boat comfortably holds 6 persons.  With this arrangement, there is plenty of room for playing those fish.

The boat is equipped with safety equipment such as plenty of life jackets, safety flares, GPS, sonar, a CB radio and a VHF radio.  Additional amenities include an AM/FM/CD player and an arched tower that provides for additional fishing rod storage, two net holders (and it’s not unusual to need both nets at the same time!), deck flood lights and a remote controlled spot light.  As you can see, this boat is set up to catch fish!

Additionally, I have discovered areas where halibut, tuna and crab can be caught. I hope you get to feel some of that excitement by spending some time with me, catching those great lunkers!  To hook into those great fish is extremely exciting and just an absolute thrill!

About the Skipper, Guide Dave Steele

I have fished off and on for most of my life, however my career choice was in law enforcement.  I had caught a few salmon over the years but hadn’t really focused on fishing.  Then several years ago, a friend talked me into fishing with him in Tillamook Bay.  I caught a 36 pound Chinook salmon.  Right then, I don’t know who or what was hooked more!  That salmon or me!

After retiring from a 28 year career in law enforcement in 2003, I began turning that passion into more of a full time experience, fishing the rivers and staying for months on the coast.  During the past three years, that passion for fishing has resulted in my boat catching more than 900 salmon.
